Last weekend I visited the biggest fantasy fair in Europe:

ELF FANTASY FAIR in Haarzuilen (De Haar Castle): The Kingdom of Elfië


"Elves, Orcs and Fantasy creature of all worlds, unite!"
For two days there was a feast and vampires, elves, witches, aliens and knights travelled together in harmony and fraternity.

24,000 thousand people from West-Europe visited the Elf Fantasy Fair of the grounds of Castle de Haar. This year they enlarged this fairytale-like area, visitors had ample opportunity to immerse themselves in an amalgamation of performances, lectures, music and the beautiful outfits of the visitors.

There was an art court with many great artists.
All that is attributed to Gothic gathered around the Chapel. All magical and wondrous creatures that inhabited Elfië hided in Creature Corner.
In the Celtic Tent you could find story tellers. Telling about the inner meaning of the Irish Elven folk.
Along Medieval Road there were merchants and a medieval camp and a substantial number of Re-enactment groups, they brought medieval existence back to every day life.


Swordfighting, archery, historical introduction to perfume, valiant knights, noble ladies, damsels, agile archers, nimble fire jugglers, stilt artists, mysterious gypsies, rich merchants and not-so-rich farmers.

You could attend workshops in the Celtic Woods.
J.R.R. Tokien: True folk of Middle Earth. There were Elves, Dwarfs, Ents, Hobbits and Humans but Haradrim and Ring wraith as well.

A Silver Unicorn! The stone circle of Elfbury. And of course lots of music! Cecile Corbel, harp player and singer from Bretagne. Schelmisch, a lively German band in medieval arrangement.

There was a Witches Circle, LARP Alley and a Field of Honour.



It was very impressive, and I had a wonderful day, taking pictures and talking to all kind of people!!
